"ART IN THE BALLPARK"
PEOPLE'S CHOICE ART EXHIBITION
Bosse Field, the Home of the Evansville Otters, July 17.
It is time to start planning your artwork for the 2009 ART IN THE BALLPARK, Friday, July 17 at Bosse Field. This annual summertime event at the home of the Evansville Otters encourages artists to create "baseball themed art" (both 2D & 3D) to be displayed during the evening home game. All attendees to that game will be invited to vote for their favorite top three pieces and the winners will be announced during the 7th inning stretch! No entry fee required except the purchase of a ticket to the ballgame. Up to four entries per artist.
**Artists who have entered work for this show in the past are invited to bring those pieces back for display. We have had such great entries in all of our past ART IN THE BALLPARK events and want to show them off to all the Otters fans! So whether your artwork will be new OR "recycled", download the entry form to participate in this one-of-a-kind event.

Another special event going on that week at Bosse Field is a "Dugout Donation" fundraiser for the Arts Council. $2 from every $5 general admission adult ticket, accompanied by a special coupon (available on our website in July,) will be donated to this organization to help support the Arts Council's programming and special events.

Downtown Jazz, Wine & Arts Festival
Saturday, September 19, 2009
1 pm - 10 pm
The Arts Council of SW Indiana is proud to be a part of the 2nd Annual Downtown Jazz, Wine & Arts Festival, scheduled for Saturday, September 19.
Between 6th & 2nd on Main, an extensive range of activities will be taking place to entertain festival visitors, including wine tastings, food vendors, performances by local jazz musicians, and of course, artist booths featuring a wide array of 2- and 3-dimensional artwork for sale.
We anticipate, as a result of last year's success, that the Arts component will be a huge draw to the festival. In addition to the local artwork for sale, there will be demonstrations and a Plein Air Paint-Out taking place throughout the event. The Plein Air Paint-Out will conclude with a People's Choice Award for the favorite submission. The finale of the Festival will be a riverfront concert by a national jazz headliner and a street dance.
Arts Council members, as well as other local artists, are invited to participate in any of the arts events taking place that day. If you would like to apply for an artist booth, for sales and/or demonstrations, please review and complete the ARTIST BOOTH APPLICATION. To participate in the Plein Air Paint-Out ONLY (no booth) complete the PLEIN AIR REGISTRATION FORM.
